General Reference Databases
General reference databases are a good place to start researching when your topic is still broad. These databases will give you many results and may help you narrow your topic. Academic Search Complete / Advanced Placement Source: General reference databases that search a wide variety of databases, periodicals, etc.
EBSCO MAS Ultra: General reference database that searches a wide variety of periodicals and journals.
Electronic Reference Books: All the info contained in a reference book, but online! Subjects include world religions, environmental science, the industrial revolution, and numerous science topics.
eLibrary Curriculum: A very current database that searches newspapers, magazines, photos, video, and audio. Excellent resource for researching recent events. Special collections on literature and history.
Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos: A Spanish version of World Book Encyclopedia.
Encyclopedia Britannica: An online encyclopedia that is good for general information.
Encyclopedia Britannica School Edition: An online encyclopedia that is geared toward K-12 students.
GACollege 411: Lots of information about Georgia colleges, as well as how to plan, apply, and pay for college.
GALILEO: General reference database that searches a wide variety of databases, periodicals, journals etc.
Junior Reference Collection: A general reference database that provides popular topic and subject links, as well as multimedia and primary sources.
New Book of Knowledge: A database that searches encyclopedias, magazines, and websites.
PlanetaSaber: A comprehensive Spanish language encyclopedia that features timelines, an atlas, and a dictionary.
SIRS Knowledge Source: A database that allows you to do a general search or search by topic, and provides a "Top 10 Pro v. Con Issues."
Student Resource Center: A general reference database that provides popular topic and subject links, as well as multimedia, academic, and primary sources.

World Book Encyclopedia: An online encyclopedia for general searches; a biography center, popular articles, and new headlines are also available.
