  2. Double-click the ‘Install this FIRST’ folder.
  3. Double-click the ‘Windows 3ivx Installer’ icon. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
  4. Once the installation is complete, close all open windows.

  1. Open ‘My Computer’ and double-click the ‘FLIPVIDEO’ icon.
  2. Double-click the ‘DCIM’ folder.
  3. Double-click the ‘100VIDEO’ folder. For each video you recorded, you will find a video file in .avi or mpg4 format.

Step 4: Editing or converting your files

  1. Open Windows Movie Maker (Start>Programs>Accessories>Windows Movie Maker).
  2. Import your videos from your student number folder. Files that are .avi should import into Movie Maker without problem. Files that are mpg4 need to be converted to avi files first.
  3. Drag your clip into the storyboard at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Use Movie Maker to edit your video, if you would like. Go to this page for help with Movie Maker.
  5. Under ‘Finish Movie’ click on ‘Save to my computer.’
  6. On the next screen, name your file and ‘Browse’ to choose your student number folder. Click ‘Next’ on the following two screens.
  7. Your videos will now be converted to .wmv format and can be inserted into PowerPoint and other Windows applications.
  8. You can also save these .wmv files to an external drive to view at home.
