Create a Screencast
There are many tools available to create your own screencast, but here are instructions for Screencast-o-matic:
1. Go to http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/ .
2. Be sure to have a microphone hooked up to your computer. You can get a headphone/microphone set from the media center. Just ask at the circulation desk.
3. Click ‘Create.’
4. Position and resize the screencasting frame as needed. Click the record button at the lower left to record your narration.
5. Pause and/or stop as needed. You may also restart as necessary.
6. Once you are finished, click back to the screen-o-matic website.
7. You can preview your video, then decide what to do with it: upload to screencast-o-matic’s website, upload to youtube, export as a movie, or keep working at home.
8. Tip: I recommend exporting as a movie: change the format to .avi or .wmv. and browse so that you save it in your student number folder. An .avi or .wmv file will automatically open in Windows Media Player and works well here on campus.
Have questions or need help? Stop by the media center and ask Mrs. Frilot or Mrs. Golemme.
